Thomas, who was dishonorably discharged from the army, takes on a job working for Ali, the Turkish owner of several successful kebab shops in the backwaters of eastern Germany. Ali’s wife Laura has a dark past, and is financially dependent on her husband. Captured in her marriage, she begins a relationship with Thomas. Her latest film working with Chistian Petzold shows Nina as a femme fatale in a story á la The Postman Always Rings Twice, and is being premiered in Bremen.
